Stephanie Barkley Garner |
 |
Stephanie Barkley received her BFA in Dance from Missouri State University
and has been living, dancing and teaching in Greensboro for 10 years. She
is originally from Branson MO where she grew up involved with theater
production on many levels, from performance and choreography to rehearsal
direction and dance instruction to the stars. In addition to her classes
here, Stephanie works for City Arts - Arts in Education and teaches dance
at High Point University.

Amanda Diorio |

Amanda Diorio was born and raised in suburban Boston where she studied
dance, theater, music and gymnastics. She moved to Philadelphia to attend
Temple University in 1998. She graduated with a B.F.A. in Dance in 2002,
after which she remained in Philadelphia where she worked as a Master of
Ceremonies, and taught dance at several locations in and around the city.
At this time she also created The Amanda Diorio Dance (A.D.D.) Company.
The A.D.D. Company performed at several events including the New Edge Mix
and Ladyfest- Philadelphia. She was introduced to hip Hop through Rennie
Harris Puremovement where she interned for several years. Amanda currently
lives in Greensboro and works as a Teaching Assistant while she completes
her M.F.A. in choreography.

Alegria Rodriguez |

Alegria Rodriguez has been dancing since she was 3 and is currently working towards her BS in Dance Education at UNC-G. Before moving to Greensboro Alegria lived in Seattle where she recieved extensive ballet, tap, and modern training in the ISTD-RAD technique. She has also attended the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers at Seattle's Creative Dance Center where she studied educational technique specific to creative movement

Sara Tourek |

Sara Tourek holds an MFA in Dance Choreography from UNCG and a BFA in Dance from Ohio University. Before residing in North Carolina, Sara lived and worked in New York City. She has choreographed and performed in regional theaters throughout the United States. Sara has a wide range of teaching experience including classical ballet, pointe, contemporary dance, choreography, and dance appreciation.

Ashlee Ramsey |

Ashlee Ramsey received a BFA in dance in 2004 from UNCG. Since graduating
she has produced two modern dance concerts and toured with the North
Carolina Dance Festival both as a member of the John Gamble Dance Theater
and as a dancer for Christina Tsoules-Soriano. She has also performed in
work by Sean Sullivan, Amy Beasley, and Christine Kiernan. Her own
choreography is marked by collaboration with dancers Jennifer McNure, Renay
Aumiller, Kathryn Ullom, and Corey Stephenson, as well as poet Clement
Mallory and the musical group Phon. Ashlee has taught modern, ballet,
improvisation, and creative movement for Greensboro City Arts since 2005.
She will continue her collaboration with poet Clement Mallory in designing
a learning curriculum entitled Moving Words --a poetry and dance fusion
class to be implemented into recreational after-school programs.

Wesley Williams |

Wesley L. Williams Jr. has been a dancer, choreographer & educator in the
Greensboro community since 2002. A former NC Central University
scholarship football player, he now directs the Urban Dance Theater. In
addition to his classes here, he has taught at UNCG and has ongoing work
with the Guilford County Health Care Provider teaching African dance at the
Diabetic seminars on Saturdays at the Windsor Center. He also works with
the Burlington Arts Council teaching African dance in the after school
program.

Tina Yarborough Liggins |

Tina Yarborough Liggins received her BFA in Dance from UNC Greensboro and a MFA in Arts Administration from Virginia Tech. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor at NC A&T and Wake Forest University. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Yarborough Liggins is the founder of TLine Danz, and sits on the Board of Directors for the NC Dance Project. Her past experiences include the position of Artistic Director/Choreographer for Otésha Creative Arts Ensemble and Co-Director/Instructor for Arts Evangelica Christian Arts School. Other professional experiences include dancing with Chuck Davis African American Dance Ensemble and John Gamble / Jan Van Dyke Modern Dance Company.

Corin Youngblood |

Corin Youngblood is a senior dance major at UNCG. She has been studying
dance since she was five years old, training in ballet and other forms
including jazz, lyrical, modern, theatre, and hip-hop. Before college, she
was a member of the Allan Hancock Youth Dance Company and the Enloe Dance
Ensemble, and trained at Allan Hancock College, North Carolina Dance
Institute, and the NC Governor's School. While at UNCG she has performed
with many choreographers, including faculty members Robin Gee and Duane
Cyrus.

Julia Edwards |

Julia Young Edwards, MFA is a native of Winston-Salem, NC who has studied multiple forms of movement for twenty-five years and choreographed modern dance for twelve. Ms. Edwards is addicted to movement, has a passion for teaching and a deep love for choreographing. Currently, she is an instructor at City Arts, on adjunct faculty in the dance department at University of North Carolina Greensboro, has served as dance and Area III faculty for North Carolina Governor's School West since 2007 and teaches Pilates throughout Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC. Courses Edwards enjoys teaching include Modern, Ballet, Pilates, Jazz, Dance Appreciation, Anatomy for Dancers and Composition. She graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts with a concentration in Modern Dance and then continued to study for two years in the Ohio State Dance Department. Ms. Edwards holds a BS in Sociology from College of Charleston, a Comprehensive Pilates Certification from Praxis Balanced Body Studio in Charleston, SC and a MFA in Dance Choreography from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Along with teaching, she continues to free-lance as a performer, choreographer and lighting designer across the Southeast.
