ELIZABETH LANE CHRISTOPHER - SCHOOL DIRECTOR
(Creative Movement, Adult Beg Ballet, Adult Int/Adv Ballet, Beg Ballet Beg Ballet/Pre-Pointe, Preballet)

Elizabeth Lane Christopher holds an MFA in Choreography from UNCG and a BA in dance with a minor in music from Winthrop University. Her professional performance career includes contemporary and commercial work such as John Gamble Dance Theater, Cyrus Art Production, Carnival Cruise Lines lead dancer, Paramount Carowinds Production Performer, CPCC Summer Stock theater company member, and various independent performances. Elizabeth serves as School Director and instructor for Dance Project: the School at City Arts and additionally teaches as adjunct faculty at UNCG and NC A&T University. Elizabeth has a broad range of teaching experience including ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, tumbling, somatics, and a variety of lectures courses including Dance Appreciation, Introduction to Dance, Dancer's Body, Body Works, and Strategies for Success. Elizabeth loves to share her zest and passion for dance and movement!

ELISA WERNER COOK
(Creative Movement)

Elisa Werner Cook fell in love with dance at a young age. She graduated with a degree in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 2008. During her college career she had the privileged of dancing for faculty members and students, as well as being a member of the student- lead organization Prime Movers. She has taught for Little People's Creative Workshop and taught at Dance Project: the School at City Arts during the 2007-2008 school year. Currently, Elisa teaches dance at Parkland High School and West Forsyth High School, where she also coaches the Dance Team.

AMANDA DIORIO
(Adult Hip-Hop, Adult Int/Adv Modern)

Amanda Diorio was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston studying movement, music, and theater. She holds an M.F.A. in Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.F.A. in Dance from Temple University. She was artistic director of the A.D.D. Company based out of Philadelphia from 2002 to 2007. She has taught dance extensively in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and North Carolina at universities, studios, and community centers. She continues working as an educator at UNC-Greensboro, Elon University, and Dance Project: the School at City Arts.

STEPHANIE BARKLEY GARNER
(Creative Movement, Int Tap, Beg/Int Jazz, Beg Tap)

Stephanie Barkley Garner received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Missouri State University and has been living, dancing and teaching in the Greensboro community for over 10 years. She is originally from Branson, Missouri where she grew up involved with theater production on many levels, from performance and choreography to rehearsal direction and dance instruction to Branson's entertainment celebrities. Her choreography has been seen on many triad stages including Once Upon A Mattress and You're A Good Man Charlie Brown most recently.  In addition to her classes with the Dance Project, Stephanie teaches dance at High Point University and is an adjunct faculty member at Wake Forest University.

ASHLEY HYERS
(Adult Beg Tap & Adult Int/Adv Tap)

Ashley Hyers has been teaching at City Arts since 1991. She also co-ordinates the dance program at Greensboro College and choreographs for the theatre department. She is a certified Alexander Technique Teacher and pilates instructor.

KATARINA BLOSE

began dancing at a young age in Northern Illinois. After studying at Rockford Dance Company (Vaganova Technique), Metropolitan Ballet (Cecchetti Method), and Northern Illinois University (French and American Classical Techniques), she relocated to North Carolina. Katrina attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Katrina moved to New York to dance with Joffrey Ballet School. There she began her freelance dance career that led her to Europe. Following her return to the states, Katrina did guest work throughout the East Coast soon finding a home at Columbia City Ballet. Though happily dancing, coaching, and teaching professionally, Katrina's quest for knowledge about other dance techniques took over. She is now at University of North Carolina at Greensboro working towards her Dance B.F.A. graduation in December 2011. Katrina continues to do guest dance and aerial performance work in the area.

REBEKAH GONZALEZ

Rebekah Gonzalez started studying dance at the age of fourteen by way of musical theatre, with shows like Hairspray, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof and Aida. She was a part of Studio One Lab Series, a musical theatre company, where she learned the basics of dance performance, acting, and voice. Her specialties include modern, lyrical, ballet, traditional West African dance, Hip Hop, and Jazz. For the past two years, she has danced for Sugarfoote Productions, a traditional West African/Contemporary dance company in Greensboro, NC. In December of 2011, she will obtain a BA in dance with a second major in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). In addition to working at Dance Project: the School at City Arts, she also teaches Hip Hop at Studio J Dance Center in Asheboro, NC as well as African and contemporary dance at high schools and various events across North Carolina.

ANNE MORRIS

Anne Morris is a teacher, choreographer, writer, and performer. Originally from Decatur, GA, she holds an MFA in Dance Choreography from UNCG and a BA in English with a minor in Dance from Smith College. Anne danced with Brazz Dance Theater, a professional company blending Afro-Brazilian and modern dance, from 2002-2008, in Massachusetts and Miami, FL. In addition to performing with Brazz Dance Theater, she was the Director of Development and Public Relations for the company.  She is a dance reviewer for the online journal World Dance Reviews, and maintains two of her own blogs about dance writing (http://alm-turnofphrase.blogspot.com/) and dance making (http://tracingmfa.blogspot.com/). She is currently Program Director with the Dance Project, and helps to coordinate the annual NC Dance Festival.

KATE WEAVER

Kate Weaver graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2000 with majors in Communication Studies and Dance. Kate is versatile and skilled in a variety of dance idioms as a teacher, performer and choreographer as well as experienced in teaching students of all ages and abilities. Kate enjoys teaching dance classes in a culturally enriching classroom, utilizing strengths in creativity, technique, building relationships, and innovative program development. In addition to Kate's dance education experience, she has performed professionally with the Jan Van Dyke Dance Group.
